Proudly Serving Calwell

According to the 2016 census of Population, there were 5,758 people in Calwell. Calwell is located close to the Monaro Highway which provides a direct route to Canberra City and to Cooma. The suburb was named after the Labor politician, Arthur Augustus Calwell. The suburb name was gazetted on 5 August 1975. Streets in the suburb are named after Victorian politicians. Calwell also has two government schools Calwell High School, located on Casey Crescent and Calwell Primary School, located on Downard Street. Gardengigs has been serving Calwell since starting up and have become the leading landscapers in the area.
